mulching

When to mulch your garden / flower bed

Not only does mulching make your garden beds look cleaner and more polished, there are lots of other great benefits of mulching!

  • Mulching  helps weeds from coming through (while it doesn’t eliminate completely, it cuts back on the ones you already have)
  • It helps hold in water to your plants/shrubs, which is great if you happen to have a dryer season than normal because you can save on watering!
  • It maintains an even temperature of your roots, which is important for continual and unvarying growth
  • Helps protect soil from erosion
  • With certain mulches you can actually add nutrients to your soil, to make it more conducive to plant growth (contact us to find out more)
